Group Presentation Formats
As in recent years, all students will be presenting posters (3'h x 4'l). In addition, each project is allotted an oral time slot to present their results. Project directors may use this time at their discretion. Typically, directors have given a brief overview of the project (i.e. goals, tectonic setting, etc.) and introduced the student projects (5-8 min). The remainder of the time, students present their results. Some directors may choose to have all student participants give a brief presentation, whereas others may opt to choose two or three student presenters.

Friday Night Events
After the field trip on Friday, all of the students and project directors will gather at College Park Hall. The purpose of this gathering is two-fold: 1) fill out project evaluations and 2) prepare presentations for Saturday. Each project will be assigned a room for the evening. From experience, I would recommend directors plan their portion of the presentation ahead of time and decide which students will be speaking and in what order. Ideally, students would send you slides ahead of time, but this rarely happens. If at all possible, practice the presentations with your students. Many tend to be nervous and lack confidence, as they haven't seen the project director or student colleagues since the summer. The Union Trolley will be servicing College Park Hall and the hotel all evening and into the night, so all groups should have enough time to prepare.

A formal schedule and details about the Friday field trip will be posted to the web shortly.
